We extend our deepest gratitude to the University of Georgia Master Gardener Extension
Volunteers for their tireless dedication to the Major Ridge Demonstration Garden at the
Chieftains Museum. We are especially thankful for their thoughtful efforts to represent the types
of plants that Major Ridge might have had on his plantation, as well as those significant to
Cherokee culture and heritage. Through careful plant selection, they are helping preserve and
share a vital piece of history. In addition to their hard work maintaining the garden, these
volunteers have gone above and beyond by donating both their time and personal resources,
and by raising funds to improve the garden year after year. We are deeply appreciative of their
