- June 22Stepping Stones for the Garden Workshop
The Floyd County Master Gardeners will present a Community Workshop on “Stepping Stones for Your Garden.” The workshop has been cancelled on the 8th due to the weather, but has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 22nd from 12:00-2:00pm at Chieftains Museum. Master Gardener Nelly Luthi and Floyd County Extension Agent Keith Mickler will show you how to make your own personalized stepping stones for your garden. This hands-on activity will require preregistration and a $10.00 supply fee. The class will be limited to the first 20 people to preregister. Please call the Floyd County Extension Office, 706-295-6210, to sign up and receive information pertaining to the workshop.
- June 29Warriors of AniKituhwa Dance Performance
The museum is proud to partner with the Rome Area Council for the Arts to bring the Warriors of AniKituhwa to Rome for a special performance the evening of Saturday, June 29th in Ridge Ferry Park from 5:00-8:00pm. Tickets for this event are $10 per person with a $25 family cap and will be sold in advance at Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home as well as at the gate the evening of June 29th. Museum members will receive a discount when purchasing tickets. This event will take place rain or shine with an alternative location within the park used in case of inclement weather.
