Chieftains and the Rome Area History Museum present Dalton resident Dr. Bill Blackman, a Dalton opthomologist, who takes great pleasure in sharing his found items at shows and in exhibits for the public interested in the Civil War. He has expanded this to historic preservation for the benefit of Dalton’s heritage tourism industry.
For this event the Lee Letters will be on display in the Museum. The letters came to the Chieftains collections from the Addison Jones family who occupied the home from 1863 to 1900.
The letters were preserved from funding by Dean Jeffries of the Jones/Jeffries collection of the Museum, the Rome Area Heritage Foundation, and Bill and Linda Blackman of the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia.
Free admission. Please reserve your space, as seating is limited, by calling 706.291.9494 or email chmuseum@bellsouth.net.
