Date(s) – Mar 28 2019 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Have you ever wanted to learn the proper way to cook with herbs and wondered what the history of those herbs might be? Chieftains Museum and The Season Events are teaming up in March to host a cooking demonstration to answer all your culinary questions about herbs.
The demonstration will take place on Thursday, March 28th from 11am-12:30pm at The Season Events, located at 300 Glenn Milner Blvd in Rome. Participants will work alongside The Season Events chefs to prepare various dishes made with herbs while they learn the history of these tasty plants, then enjoy their handiwork for lunch.
The cost for this event is $20 per person with a limit of 20 participants for the program. Participants must wear a head covering (hat or hair net) and closed-toe shoes to work in The Season Events kitchen. Reservations must be made by March 21st by calling the museum at (706) 291-9494.
Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home is a National Historic Landmark and one of only a few private entities to be certified by the National Park Service as a site on the Trail of Tears. Major Ridge, whose old home Chieftains now occupies, was one of the signers of the Treaty of New Echota, which resulted in the forced relocation of the Cherokee people.
