Garden Work Day at the Museum

Date/Time
Date(s) – Sep 15 2018
9:30 am – 12:30 pm

The museum will host a work day to introduce the public to the gardens on the museum campus beginning at 9:30am on Saturday, September 15th.
Under the guidance of Floyd County Master Gardeners, volunteers will learn more about the Major Ridge Demonstration Garden, the Three Sisters Garden, and other campus landscape features as they help prepare the campus for the Fall season. No experience is necessary to volunteer for the work day event, just an interest in learning about the museum and its gardens and the willingness to lend a hand to keep the campus maintained for visitors to the museum in the coming months.
“It is our hope that this garden work day will encourage the community to come and be a part of the museum by working on our campus,” stated Executive Director Heather Shores. “We would love for those who participate to become regular volunteers to help with our gardens and grounds.”
No sign up required. All volunteers for the work day on September 15th are encouraged to bring work gloves and garden tools to the event.
