The Chieftains Museum/ Major Ridge Home will be hosting the first Floyd Free Day this year on Saturday, June 22nd from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is being sponsored by Georgia Power. For this event, the museum will offer free admission to all Floyd County residents with proof of residency. “This event is our way to show appreciation to our residents and to show the community what our museum has to offer,” says Executive Director Heather Shores. “Chieftains Museum is a part of national history and we want to give each local resident a chance to learn its story.” The museum looks forward to meeting those in Floyd County who have never been to the museum and seeing those who have visited before.
