Chieftains Museum will co-sponsor a group of Cherokee dancers for the 2016 World Music & Dance Festival at Berry College from 1pm-10pm on Saturday, April 2, 2016. This free event on the Berry College Library lawn features performers representing a variety of cultures, including Irish, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin, African & Caribbean music and dance. This year, the festival will also include the Cherokee culture in its presentation through the Bird Chopper Native American Drumming & Dancing group scheduled to perform at 2pm the day of the program.
Working with Dr. Jen Corry, an Associate Professor of Spanish and one of the event organizers at Berry College, Chieftains Museum was able to help co-sponsor the Bird Chopper Native American group at this year’s festival in order to represent one of the original cultures in America. For more information on the festival, contact the museum or visit the Berry College World Music Festival page on Facebook.
