Lecture: Prehistoric Peoples of Sweetwater Creek State Park

Roy Palmer, the museum’s graduate assistant from the University of West Georgia, will hold a lecture on the prehistoric peoples who called this area home in an intro to archaeology and our prehistoric heritage on Saturday, July 8th from 2:00-3:00pm.

2017 Civil War in the Western Theater Colloquium

The Bandy Heritage Center will present the 2017 Civil War in the Western Theater Colloquium “Written in Blood and Carved in Stone: Remembering the Civil War at Chickamauga, Shiloh, and Vicksburg” on Saturday, February 4, 2017.

Arbor Day 2017!

This year, three Yoshino Cherry Trees will be installed on the grounds at the Clocktower in observance of Arbor Day on Friday, February 17, 2017. Restoration of the Clocktower took place this past fall and other improvements are underway at the site. The installation of these new trees will further enhance Rome’s favorite landmark.
