Start off the New Year with a guided hike at New Echota State Historic site on Saturday, January 5th. Join park staff as they begin weekly guided hikes touring the historic buildings in the park every Saturday at 10:00am and 1:00pm. The historic buildings hike is ¾ of a mile and takes 1 ½ hours. During the hike, you will learn about the history of the Cherokee people and their capital at New Echota. The hike is included with the price of admission.
At 10:00am there will be a guided hike of the New Town Creek Nature Trail. The trial is a one-mile loop which travels through both hardwoods and pines. There are several wildlife viewing opportunities along the route.
