This year, three Yoshino Cherry Trees will be installed on the grounds at the Clocktower in observance of Arbor Day on Friday, February 17, 2017. Restoration of the Clocktower took place this past fall and other improvements are underway at the site. The installation of these new trees will further enhance Rome’s favorite landmark.
The trees represent the City of Rome, celebrating 27 years as a Tree City USA; the Rome Federated Garden Clubs, Inc.; and the NSDAR, Xavier Chapter.
*Arbor Day Proclamations are scheduled for Monday evening, February 13 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall and on Tuesday afternoon, February 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Floyd County Administration Building. Everyone is invited to attend the proclamation readings and we will make copies of the proclamations available for your books of evidence.
